This Colombia coffee, from Las Acacias, in the beautiful town of Acevedo in Huila, Colombia.
Over the years, Monica Rodriguez Rojas has been experimenting with processing and varietals at her farm. Coffees here often grow at over 1700 masl, on small family-run farms. This leads to a wide array of clean and crisp expressions, depending on the capacity and routines of each.
Like many other rare arabica varieties, the exact origins of Ombligon are unknown. Currently, Ombligon only grows in Huila, Colombia – a prominent producing region in the south west of the country.
The name “Ombligon” – which translates from Spanish to English as “belly button” – comes from this variety’s unique shape.
